Motors

An electric motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Most electric motors operate through the interaction between the motor’s magnetic field and electric current in a wire winding to generate force in the form of torque applied on the motor’s shaft. They can be powered by DC (Direct Current) sources, like a battery, or by AC (Alternating Current) sources, a power grid. Electric motors are utilized throughout many industries.

Motor Technology distributes and sells many electric motors ranging from fractional hp to large hp AC and DC motors.

We also stock a large inventory of AC and DC motors ready at a moment’s notice.

Pumps

Pumps move substances through their mechanical action. They can be divided into three types of pumps: Centrifugal, Reciprocating, and Rotary pumps.

One of the most commonly available types, centrifugal pumps, uses one or more rotating impellers to create suction. Positive displacement pumps rely on a piston that pushes in and out to create suction. Rotary pumps use gears that mesh together to create a high discharge pressure level to drive flow.

We sell all pump types and manufacturers, such as Flowserve, Goulds, and Sulzer.

We can also upgrade your existing pumps, including packing assembly seals conversion, spray welding, custom coatings, as well as shaft modifications.

AC & DC Drives

A Drive is an electronic device used to control the speed and motion of electrical machines such as motors and robots etc.

DC (Direct Current) drives convert an AC (Alternating Current) supply into DC to control a DC motor. AC drives convert the AC supply to the DC using converter circuits based on the rectifier and invert it back to the AC from DC using an inverter to control the speed of electric motors, especially three-phase motors. AC drives are also known as VFD (Variable Frequency Drive). Motor Technology supplies and supports high-performance and energy-efficient solutions for your power issues and streamlines your operations.

Blowers, Vacuums, & Fans

Many fans and blowers fall under the classifications of Industrial Fans, Industrial Blowers, Industrial Exhausters, Exhaust Blowers, Industrial Cooling Fans, Industrial Exhaust Fans, Industrial Ventilation Fans, Industrial Centrifugal Fans, and Impeller Fans. They are all one of two basic types of industrial fans: Centrifugal or Axial.

Centrifugal fans or blowers use one of seven types of wheels that are enclosed in a scroll-shaped housing. The air enters the fan wheel through the housing inlet, turns 90 degrees, accelerates radially, and exits the fan housing.

Axial fans use a propeller, having two or more blades, to move air in an axial direction through a cylindrical housing or formed orifice panel.
